“Launched by the Houthis.” The “Coalition” announces the interception and destruction of a drone in Mecca

The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen intercepted and destroyed a drone flown by the Houthis in the Mecca region, according to what the coalition spokesman announced on Friday. Coalition spokesman Turki Al-Maliki previously said on his Twitter page on the “X” platform: “Intercepting and destroying a drone in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region launched by the terrorist Houthi militia.”

Since the escalation began weeks ago, the coalition repeatedly announced that it had shot down drones in Mecca, but the Iran-backed Houthi group denied targeting the holy city for Muslims around the world. Earlier on Friday, the coalition announced "the interception and destruction of a winged (cruise) missile launched by the terrorist Houthi militia towards the western region."
