Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced on Thursday that Russia has not received any official proposals regarding the "peace plan" in Ukraine.

In response to TASS’s question regarding media reports about the United States and Europe preparing a “peace plan” regarding Ukraine, Lavrov said in statements to reporters after his participation in the summit of the Conference on Cooperation and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia: “We, of course, read what the Washington Post, the New York Times and other media outlets publish, citing sources, because this information is currently spreading widely, but we have not received any official proposals.”

He added, "But if we rely on what was leaked to the press, the plan includes four provisions, the last of which stipulates an immediate ceasefire along the line of contact. As for the ideas related to how to move towards a sustainable and long-term peace, and not just a truce that Ukraine and its European masters will violate, and we do not doubt that, the leaks that I saw do not include any reference to them."

Lavrov also pointed out that the Western press "is based, in principle, on leaks."

The Washington Post newspaper had previously reported, citing sources, that Washington and Brussels are working on preparing a joint peace proposal that would provide Russia and Ukraine with gains in the financial and security fields, in addition to laying a basis for resolving regional disputes.

The newspaper indicated that the draft agreement will consist of four items, and will include a proposal by Russia to conclude understandings with Europe in the security and economic fields, to form a basis for stability in the region.

According to the newspaper, diplomatic efforts aimed at developing a new settlement plan gained momentum following a meeting held in Florida with the participation of American, European and Ukrainian negotiators.
