On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned against any military movement against Israel from the West Bank, stressing the army’s readiness to deal with all scenarios, including what he described as a “coup of the muzzles,” in reference to the possibility of directing weapons toward Israeli forces.
Netanyahu said, during a visit to the contact line in the West Bank, accompanied by the Minister of Security, the head of the National Security Council, and the commander of the central region, that Israel is prepared for any potential threat. He added, warning: “I do not advise our enemies to test us. Here you will face a force you could not have imagined.”
According to a statement issued by the Israeli Prime Minister's Office, Netanyahu listened to briefings from the commanders of the army, the Shin Bet, and the Border Guard, regarding security measures to protect settlements, and operations carried out by Israeli forces inside Palestinian villages to arrest wanted persons and confiscate weapons.
During his tour, Netanyahu referred to the Tulkarm refugee camp, saying that the Israeli army entered the area and carried out military operations there under the guidance of his government.
He criticized calls to return residents to the camp, claiming that those there are not residents but “vandals,” as he put it.
He stressed that the Israeli army will continue to control the region, adding: “There will not be an Arab army here west of Jordan, but rather the Israeli army will be here.”
He stressed the security importance that his government attaches to the West Bank, noting the region's proximity to the city of Netanya and the Israeli coast. He said: "We guard from Jordan to the sea. Our state, and our control," in statements confirming his commitment to continuing Israeli security control over the region.
In a related context, Netanyahu revealed the presence of security warnings related to the possibility of attacks during the coming period, indicating that parties he described as hostile to Israel may consider testing their capabilities before the elections.
He explained that the army presented to him and the Minister of Security a military plan, which he described as "solid and strong", to deal with various possibilities, including the "coup of the nozzles" scenario.
He also touched on settlement activity in the West Bank, saying that Israel is establishing more than 104 settlements, in addition to a large number of farms, stressing that his government will continue to support these activities.
Netanyahu concluded his statements by stressing that, according to him, Israel will continue to protect its security at the contact line and in various regions, amid continuing security and political tensions in the West Bank.
