Tel Aviv - Ofoq News - Israeli media reports revealed that a secret meeting was held between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, at the Uvda base in southern Israel, to discuss developments in the Iranian file and the possibilities of resuming large-scale military operations against Tehran.
According to a report published by the “Israel Defense” website, citing the “Axios” website, the meeting lasted about half an hour, and dealt with the ongoing coordination and consultations between Washington and Tel Aviv regarding the possibility of renewing military operations against Iran, in light of regional developments and statements issued by US President Donald Trump.
The report indicated that the meeting was not included on the official agenda announced for both Netanyahu and Hegseth, and that the US War Department declined to comment on the details of the meeting.
According to the information contained in the report, Hegseth visited the Ovda base with the aim of inspecting the crews of the American refueling aircraft located there, and he met the members of those crews and took pictures with them during the visit.
The revelation of the meeting comes at a time when speculation is increasing regarding American and Israeli military options towards Iran, amid continuing security and military coordination between the two sides regarding developments in the region.
