October and its historical milestones are an example of the Jordanian position and its implications for national strategic security

Writer: Abdullah Tawfiq Kanaan

The history, geography, people, and Jordanian Hashemite leadership constitute strategic importance in its Arab and national dimension, especially with regard to supporting the pillars and strength of the National Front in the face of various dangers and challenges. Jordan has proven in practice that it is an important supporter and supporter of Arab issues, most notably the Palestinian issue and its core being Jerusalem. A quick review of some of the milestones of the month of October quickly detects the solidity of the Jordanian position and its essential role in preserving Arab and national security in its broad sense.

The national historical memory of the month of October is full of events, and its immortal stations include the Arab wars of defense and struggle against the Israeli aggression against Arab national security, with Israel seeking to weaken it on the one hand, and implementing Zionist plans and the myths in which it believes on the other hand, including the tripartite aggression (Britain, France, and Israel) against Egypt on October 29, 1956 AD, and later the October/Ramadan War of 1956. 1973 AD, in which the Egyptian army demonstrated historical heroism that reflects absolute belief in the power of truth in the face of tyranny and colonialism. The war of 1973 AD and the Israeli aggression were not limited to Egypt only, but rather Syria was subjected to a Zionist attack targeting its land, its borders, and its position in support of the Arabs and the Palestinian cause. For history and generations, it must be pointed out that, based on the awareness of the Jordanian people and leadership of the concept of national security, which means national and national security at the time. The same, Jordan participated in the battles of October 1973 AD through the Jordanian Armored Brigade (40) to support the Syrian front to prevent any attempts at circumvention by the Israeli enemy. Jordan also provided its political and diplomatic support in support of the brothers in international forums.

The Royal Commission for Jerusalem Affairs, as it extends its congratulations to the Egyptian people and leadership on the occasion of the Egyptian Armed Forces Day and the glorious October victories, also recalls some of October’s milestones during decades of Arab cooperation and unity in the face of the dangers and challenges that still threaten Arab national security in a region whose political climate is considered the most complex in the world. The Commission affirms that these historic victories are still and will remain a moral engine for generations and an impetus for a hoped-for Arab and Islamic unity. And supported by the will that will enhance security, freedom and independence.

The Royal Commission for Jerusalem Affairs shows that the Jordanian role in supporting Arab strategic security is linked, at the same time, to the firm and established Jordanian position towards the Palestinian issue, the essence of which is Jerusalem. Here we also recall from the October milestones the contents of Article 9 of the peace treaty signed on October 26, 1994 AD, in which Jordan affirmed the historical Hashemite custodianship of the Islamic and Christian holy sites and endowments in Jerusalem, this custodianship that Its roots go back to the Isra and Mi’raj event with regard to the custodianship of Islamic holy sites and endowments and to the Omar Covenant with regard to Christian holy sites and endowments. In its modern history, it dates back to 1924 AD, and was later confirmed by an agreement signed by His Majesty King Abdullah II with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in 2013 AD.

Authentic Hashemite thought will always remain among its most prominent national and humanitarian calls for unity and cooperation, and adherence to the rights stipulated in international legitimacy resolutions, including those related to the Palestinian issue, the core of which is Jerusalem, and the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the borders of June 4, 1967 AD, and after the Israeli aggression on Gaza in October 2023 AD, and its people were brutally subjected to genocide. And displacement, the Jordanian, Egyptian and Arab position was firm and firm in humanitarian and relief support for our people there, especially since Jordan and Egypt constitute the only humanitarian outlets for the brothers, and the diplomacy of the two countries and the wisdom of their leadership, which is respected by the world, have constituted an additional asset to alleviate suffering and provide support.
