Pakistan confirmed on Thursday that it had launched “planned and deliberate” air strikes on neighboring Afghanistan, which Islamabad accuses of harboring militants who use its territory to plan attacks on Pakistan.

The Pakistani Ministry of Information stated in a post on the “X” platform, “Based on reliable intelligence information, precise and specific targeting operations were carried out on terrorist camps and hideouts in two locations inside Afghanistan, belonging to the groups ‘Sedition of the Kharijites’ and ‘Sedition of India’ and their allied groups,” in reference to the armed groups that targeted them.

For its part, the Afghan government announced that 9 civilians were killed in Pakistani air strikes on Wednesday night, Thursday, on Afghanistan, and one of those attacks targeted Helmand Province in the south of the country.

Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said on the “X” platform that the raids on the states of Helmand and Kanar (east), which border Pakistan, also led to the injury of 11 people and the destruction of three homes.
