Prisoners' Authority: Two female prisoners suffer from difficult health conditions in Damoun

Ramallah - Ofoq News - The Commission for the Affairs of Prisoners and Ex-Detainees revealed today, Wednesday, in its report, the health status of the two female prisoners, Basmala Saad and Israa Ahmed Hoji, who are in Damoun Prison.

The two prisoners, Basmala (20 years old) and Israa (31 years old), from “Scapios”, suffer under difficult detention conditions, a lack of hygiene supplies, and high humidity inside the prison, which exacerbates their health suffering.

Prisoner Basmala Saad, who has been detained since 3/13/2026, reported that “Scapius” caused blisters and swelling in her legs, noting that she received medications to no avail. She also reported to the Commission’s lawyer that she is in solitary confinement following the crackdown on her room on 10/7/2026.

For her part, prisoner Israa Hoji, who has been detained since February 27, 2026, suffers from constant itching in her legs as a result of her infection with “Scapius”, which intensifies during the night hours and prevents her from sleeping.

This suffering comes in light of difficult health and detention conditions inside Damoun Prison, where the two female prisoners reported to the Commission’s lawyer that the rooms were subjected to repeated suppression operations and the spraying of gas and sound bombs inside the rooms on the 7th of October of this month, in addition to the scarcity of the quantity and poor quality of food.
