Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf affirmed on Sunday that “Iran will not yield to intimidation, and that it is ready to respond to any aggression that affects the integrity of its territory, with an unimaginable response,” saying that “the risk of a widespread war or the implementation of assassination operations will not push the Iranian people to abandon their rights and interests.” The semi-official Iranian Tasnim news agency quoted Qalibaf, the head of the Iranian delegation negotiating with the United States, as saying during a speech before the Iranian Parliament: “The Americans believe that they can, with some media pressure or military threats, impose surrender on this great people, oblivious to the fact that Iran today is not the Iran of the humiliating Pahlavi era, but rather an impregnable fortress of self-confidence, a defensive force, and a solid will that will not allow any foreign power to determine the fate of this nation’s pride.”
He explained: "We will not succumb to intimidation, and we are fully prepared to respond, in a response that exceeds the imaginations of our enemies, to any transgression that affects Iran's greater territorial integrity. The threat of widespread war or carrying out assassination operations is not something that forces the Iranian people to abandon their rights and interests."
He stressed, "Unless America changes its behavior, stops its hegemonic and greedy tendencies, and compensates in an objective, concrete, and real way for the obligations it violated, none of its claims will have any credibility with the Islamic Republic of Iran." Ghalibaf said: “Iran has nothing new to say.
America is the one who got involved in this quagmire with its miscalculations and its war against Iran, and now the Americans themselves must take the necessary measures to save themselves.”
