Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia achieved a 3-1 victory over Neftchi of Uzbekistan, on Monday, in the second round of the Al-Gharb region in the AFC Champions League for elite football at Al-Awal Park Stadium in Riyadh.
Brazilian Angelo opened the scoring for Al-Nassr in the 33rd minute, before Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo increased the Saudi team's lead by scoring the second goal in the 42nd minute.
Ronaldo raised his tally to 981 goals during his football career with clubs and the Portuguese national team, after scoring against Nevechi, making him only 19 goals away from reaching the 1,000th goal in his career.
In the second half, Alisher Udilov reduced the gap in favor of Neftchi in the 51st minute, before the Uzbek team suffered a blow when its player Ikram Alibayev was sent off in the 56th minute, completing the match with ten players, while Anvar Govorov scored the third goal for Al-Nasr by mistake against his team in the 78th minute.
Al-Nasr thus won its first three points in the tournament, after compensating for its loss in the opening round, while Nefichi’s score froze at three points.
