Saudi Public Security announced the arrest of a person who harassed passers-by and caused panic among them in the city of Mecca. Public Security indicated that what was circulated about the incident was incorrect. A Saudi security statement said: “The security authorities in the Holy Capital arrested a person for harassing passers-by and causing panic and dismay among them.”

Saudi Public Security continued by saying that he was "dealt with immediately and timely, and legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred to the Public Prosecution." Saudi security stressed that “there is no truth to the allegations being circulated about the incident, and it is important to obtain information from its official sources.”
