The Saudi Civil Aviation Authority announced that King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was subjected to two attacks yesterday, Thursday
The authority stated in a statement today, Friday, that the two attacks resulted in the martyrdom of 3 Saudi citizens and the injury of others of different nationalities.
It also indicated that the first attack targeted airport facilities, while the second targeted a Saudi Airlines plane. The authority added that medical care was immediately provided to the injured and they were transferred to hospitals for treatment.
In addition, the Aviation Authority confirmed the resumption of operational operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and the return of air traffic to normal.
In turn, Saudi Airlines said that an incident occurred at King Khalid International Airport, killing one of its employees and causing damage to a plane that was on the ground.
The company also confirmed that there were no passengers on board the plane at the time, and that its flights and operations at the airport had returned to normal as of six o’clock yesterday evening.
