Hebron - Ofoq News - Today, Monday, settlers attacked citizens while they were picking olives, while others blocked school students and prevented them from returning to their homes in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron.
Activist Osama Makhamra said that a group of settlers attacked members of the Al-Naamain family while they were picking olives in Khirbet Aqawawis in Musafer Yatta, and tried to seize their equipment, before preventing them from continuing to pick their crops.
He added that another group of settlers blocked the road for a number of students while they were trying to return to their homes in Khirbet Al-Halawa, and prevented vehicles from reaching them and transporting them, forcing them to return to their school in the Al-Fakhit area.
Makhamra explained that these students, along with other students, reside in separate residential communities, and are forced to move daily towards the Al-Fakhit area to attend school, in light of the occupation preventing the establishment of schools in their residential communities, noting that they are subjected to repeated attacks from settlers during their movement.
Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, witnesses repeated attacks carried out by settlers against citizens, their property, and agricultural lands, including attacks on farmers and sheep herders, attempts to seize lands, and restrictions on Bedouin and herding communities. Students in marginalized population centers also face difficulties in reaching their schools, in light of the restrictions imposed on construction and movement, which threatens their attendance in education and their safety during the daily commute.
