Salfit - Ofoq News - Today, Friday, settlers, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, attacked a number of farmers while they were on their lands to pick olives in the town of Deirblout, west of Salfit. They fired live bullets and sprayed pepper gas in their faces, before forcing them to leave their lands and preventing them from continuing to harvest the crop.
Activist Daoud Abdullah reported that a group of settlers, protected by the occupation army, attacked olive pickers in the northern area of the town, fired live bullets at them, and sprayed pepper gas in their faces, in an attack that targeted farmers while they were on their lands.
He added that the settlers forced the farmers to leave their lands under pain of assault, which prevented them from completing the harvest of olives, in light of the escalation of attacks targeting farmers during the olive season.
Daoud pointed out that the settlers smashed the windows of farmer Nassim Fayez Qaraoush’s vehicle while he was picking olives on land in the northern area of the town.
The town of Deirblout, along with a number of towns and villages in Salfit Governorate, is witnessing repeated attacks targeting farmers and their agricultural lands, which include physical assault, threats, and denial of access to land.
