Sisi: 2030 is the end of my presidency of Egypt and the constitution will not be touched

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed on Saturday that the year 2030 is the end of his presidential term, stressing that the Egyptian constitution “will not be touched by anyone,” pointing out that this matter is “decided.” This came in a speech by Sisi while attending the graduation ceremony of new batches from the Egyptian Military Academy in the New Administrative Capital, where he said: “No one who knows how to say two consecutive words should kindly lead the Egyptian state,” stressing that “protecting the homeland is a shared responsibility that begins with the Egyptian family.”

Al-Sisi continued, according to excerpts of his speech published by Al-Ahram Gateway: “Preserving the national state and its stability requires national institutions capable of protecting the capabilities of its people... All attempts at distortion that targeted the state sought to undermine citizens’ confidence in its national institutions,” noting that “preserving our armed forces is a national duty that falls on all of us by spreading awareness.”

He added: "We aim to protect the state from assuming the responsibility of leadership by people who are unable to bear the responsibility of leadership... and we are working to set standards that do not flatter or favor anyone to prepare cadres to lead the state."

Al-Sisi reminded that “the events that Egypt went through demonstrated the greatness of the national role of the armed forces.”
