Source: Netanyahu spoke with the President of the United Arab Emirates following the flydubai incident

An informed Israeli source told Ofoq News Network, on Wednesday, that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke by phone with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, and they discussed the incident that occurred on a Fly Dubai flight. The suspected hijacking attempt caused the plane to land at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia, after it was heading from Dubai to Tel Aviv, and the landing came sharply and suddenly for thousands of feet in less than two minutes, which raised the passengers’ fears for their lives.

Ofoq News Network contacted the Emirati side to obtain a comment regarding this call. It is noteworthy that Dubai has become one of the most popular international destinations for Israelis in recent years, thanks to the normalization of relations between Israel and the UAE in 2020 under the “Abraham Accords.”

Netanyahu visited the UAE and met with the head of state on Sunday, which was confirmed by the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office and the official Emirates News Agency, in a move that represented the first time that the UAE publicly acknowledged a visit by Netanyahu. An Israeli source reported that the two leaders discussed the Iran file, an arena that witnessed a deepening of cooperation between the two countries.
