Statistics: An increase in the trade balance deficit for goods observed during the month of August

Ramallah Ofoq News - The Central Bureau of Statistics said that exports increased by 23% during August 2026 compared to August 2025, reaching a value of $217.0 million.

She explained in a statement issued by the Central Bureau of Statistics on Thursday that exports to Israel increased by 29% during August 2026 compared to August 2025, and exports to Israel constituted 96% of the total value of exports for August 2026, while exports to the rest of the world decreased by 46% compared to August 2025.

Merchandise imports

During August 2026, imports increased by 19% compared to August 2025, reaching $776.6 million.

Imports from Israel also increased during August 2026 by 16% compared to August 2025, and imports from Israel constituted 62% of the total value of imports for August 2026. Imports from the rest of the world also increased by 23% compared to August 2025.

Trade balance of observed goods

As for the trade balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, it recorded an increase in the value of the deficit by 17% during the month of August of 2026 compared to the month of August of 2025, when the value of the deficit reached 559.6 million dollars.
