The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Al-Budaiwi, condemned in the strongest terms the attacks launched by the Houthi militia on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, stressing that the repeated targeting of this civilian facility embodies a criminal approach based on terrorizing the safe and endangering the lives of travelers and workers, in flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law.

Al-Budaiwi stressed that these attacks and targeting of civilian airports represent an extremely dangerous escalation that threatens the safety of civil aviation, and requires firm international action to deter these practices.

He affirmed that the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council stand united alongside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and fully support all measures it takes to protect its security and sovereignty and preserve the safety of its citizens and residents of its lands. He also stressed that the Kingdom's security is an integral part of the security of the GCC states, and that compromising its security affects the entire Gulf system.

The Saudi Civil Aviation Authority announced that the “brutal attack” that targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, last Saturday afternoon, caused the death of (12) people, including citizens and residents, and the injury of 309 others.
