The Jordanian army announced, on Monday, the implementation of an operation called (Jordanian Deterrence - Hammoud) that targeted the hideouts of terrorist organizations in southern Syria, linked to the perpetrators of the attack on the Karak Church, which resulted in the deaths of nine people. An army statement said that the Royal Air Force carried out the operation, and its fighters "destroyed a number of terrorist sites in southern Syria," adding that this resulted in "the destruction of a number of terrorist sites, the killing and wounding of many members of these terrorist organizations, and the destruction of a number of their vehicles."
The Jordanian Armed Forces affirmed in the statement that it "stands on the lookout for anyone who dares to harm the security of citizens, and stresses its determination to move forward in uprooting the roots of extremism and terrorism, and that it is continuing in its sacred duty to protect the citizens' homeland and preserve its sanctities." Earlier Monday, during a press conference, the Jordanian authorities announced the arrest of three people accused of involvement in the attack on the church.
Meanwhile, the Jordanian King, King Abdullah II, praised the security services that arrested the perpetrators of the attack, stressing that “terrorists will not escape punishment.” King Abdullah II wrote on his page on the “X” platform: “Here are the starchy people who have pursued them to their holes.
We said that terrorists will not escape punishment, nor will any thinker who differentiates between Jordanian and Jordanian.”
