Jenin - Afaq News - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education praised the selection of the Male School of Walid Abu Mois in Jenin as one of the top ten projects globally from the UNESCO/Hamdan Prize for Teacher Development, considering this achievement a translation of the excellence that Palestinian teachers continue to provide, and their ability to develop educational practices despite ongoing challenges and crises.
The Ministry expressed its pride in this achievement made by the school, represented by its principal, Mr. Muhammad Zaza, praising the efforts of the school administration, teaching staff, and students, and what they have presented as an educational and administrative model that responds to challenges and ensures the continuity of the educational process. The project, titled: Keeping Learning Alive on the Frontline: A School-Based Resilience Model for Teacher Development and Learning Continuity in Protracted Crisis Contexts (2022–2025), was selected from among 169 participation requests from 64 countries, of which 129 met the eligibility criteria, while only ten projects made it to the final list, with the best three being chosen.
The ministry confirmed that the project reflects a practical model of educational resilience, focusing on teacher development, collaborative planning, learning continuity, the use of digital alternatives, flexible assessment, psychosocial support, and enhancing partnership with students' families, all while preserving their right to learn despite the violations of the occupation and the escalating attacks by settlers in all governorates of the homeland.
