The United States Institute of Peace asks the judiciary to prevent Trump from putting his name on the building

- Another organization in Washington, D.C., is seeking to prevent President Donald Trump from permanently placing his name on the facade of its building. On Thursday, the United States Institute of Peace asked an appeals court to take urgent action to prevent the administration from placing Trump's name on the facade of its headquarters, which was renamed after him last year.

Trump ordered his name placed on the building in December - renaming it the Donald J.

The lawyers indicated that they were “aware that an official request has been submitted to carry out the work and select a contractor to do it.” Ofoq News reached out to the White House for comment. The foundation's request comes at a time when Trump is seeking to put his name on another prominent building in Washington, the Kennedy Center, a case cited by the foundation's lawyers in their lawsuit.

On Thursday, a judge ordered the board of directors of the Kennedy Center - where Trump has appointed allies - to provide 30 days advance notice before planning any demolition or new construction at the center. On Wednesday, Trump was photographed examining a sign that appeared to read “Kennedy Center: Demolished.”

Trump had warned that the center would "end up being demolished" unless he intervened and collected donations, claiming that the building was in a "very dangerous condition." In his second term, Trump paid special attention to putting his name on federal buildings and renovating monuments to suit his taste, steps that sparked angry public reactions and led to the filing of numerous lawsuits.
