The occupation storms a school in Tulkarm and tears up the Palestinian flag

Tulkarm - Ofoq News - Today, Wednesday, the Israeli occupation forces stormed the village of Jabara, south of Tulkarm, raided its basic school and removed the Palestinian flags there.

The head of the village council in Jabara, Muhammad Awad, said that the occupation forces deployed in all neighborhoods of the village, amid heavy firing of sound bombs and toxic tear gas towards citizens.

He added that the occupation forces raided the Jabara School after removing the locks on its main doors and the roof, and removed the Palestinian flags from the flagpole and the walls and tore them up, and also tampered with the school’s facilities.

Awad explained that what happened at the school was not a separate, private incident, and that it coincided with Palestinian Flag Day, and comes in the context of the military incursions and measures that the village has been subjected to for years, and the accompanying isolation and restrictions on the lives of citizens.

He pointed out that the arrival of these measures at the village school affects a place that is supposed to be safe for children and dedicated to education and building their future, calling on government agencies and international, human rights and humanitarian institutions to assume their responsibilities, document what happened, and follow up on the violations to which the village and its civil facilities are exposed, especially educational institutions.
