US President Donald Trump said on Friday that he was not behind the disruption of the Starlink service that occurred in Ukraine. "I didn't do it," Trump told reporters at the White House.
He added: "Well, I don't know if there was another party behind it, because it wasn't me, and I don't think Elon (Musk) was either. And from my understanding, the situation is still the same as it always was."
Trump indicated that he is not even sure there are any restrictions on how quickly Ukraine can use the “Starshield” service, the military version of Musk’s “Starlink” service. “I don't even think it's been slowed down,” Trump said.
But as far as I know, because I checked it this morning, I heard about it through the news and the media, we haven't slowed it down at all. “And I think it probably works, from what I know.”
"Any restrictions on speed or use are decided by the US military, and ultimately by the President of the United States," Musk said earlier this week.
