The Yemeni Armed Forces announced today, Thursday, the killing and wounding of 80 members of the Houthi group during violent battles on several fronts in Taiz Governorate, confirming that they repelled attacks by the group and inflicted losses on them in numerous equipment.
A military source told the Yemeni News Agency "Saba" that 30 Houthi members were killed and 50 others were injured by government forces' fire during the confrontations on the Al-Aqroud front in Al-Misrakh District, southeast of the governorate.
The source added that at the same time, government forces fought violent battles in Bani Bakari, Jabal Habashi District, and Himyar, Maqbanah District, noting that the confrontations extended to the Al-Kadha and Jabal Han fronts, in addition to the northern and eastern fronts of the city of Taiz.
According to the source, after hours of confrontations, government forces were able to repel the Houthi attacks and force their members to retreat, amid the group's continued movements and attempts to target the forces' positions on a number of fronts in the governorate.
For his part, the official spokesman for the armed forces, Colonel Majid Al-Nuzaili, said that the forces on the Taiz fronts continue to adhere to their positions and perform their combat missions on various fronts, stressing that the confrontations resulted in heavy losses among the Houthis.
Military sources reported to the "September.net" website that the battles coincided on several fronts, including Al-Aqroud, Bani Bakari and Himyar, confirming that the Houthis suffered losses in many equipment and equipment.
