In the Friday sermon, the preachers of the Two Holy Mosques in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia renewed their condemnation of the attacks launched by the Houthis in Yemen on Mecca and Medina. The preacher of the Grand Mosque, Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, condemned what he described as “criminal terrorist attacks” by the Houthi terrorist group on Mecca and Medina, stressing that they represent “a clash with Sharia law, a provocation to the feelings of Muslims, and a flagrant violation of international norms and conventions,” stressing that “the security and sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques is a red line that cannot be crossed,” according to what SPA quoted him as saying. Saudi Arabia News.
Sheikh Al-Sudais added: “Using contemporary means, the Zealots condemn and denounce the Houthi criminal attacks on Mecca, Medina and civilian objects.” For his part, the Friday preacher at the Prophet’s Mosque, Sheikh Khaled Al-Muhanna, said: “Mecca is the Sacred House of God and the most beloved country to God. God has promised those who intend to commit a great sin therein with painful punishment, so how about those who intend to attack it, such as the terrorist Houthi militia, whose likeness God has made the owners of the elephant an example to those who follow their path.”
He added: “The Two Holy Mosques have great sanctity in the eyes of God, and they have complete love in the heart of every Muslim, and no criminal has returned them with hostility and plotting, except that God has made his plots go astray and his affairs go wrong.” The Saudi-led “Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen” recently announced that air defenses “intercepted and destroyed a drone launched by the Houthi militia that attempted to enter the airspace of Mecca.”
For its part, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that it condemns and denounces "the launching of an enemy drone by the terrorist Houthi militia towards the city of Mecca," accusations that the Houthis denied. Later, the official spokesman for the "Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen", Major General Turki Al-Maliki, announced the occurrence of what he described as a "terrorist attack" launched by the Houthis on the Taiba electricity distribution station in Medina.
Al-Maliki added: “The results of the investigation and inferences from the competent authorities have proven the involvement of the terrorist Houthi militia in planning and implementing this cowardly terrorist act, through the operational review and the remains of the drone debris used.”
