A child was killed and 8 others were injured, including children and women, as a result of a bombing launched by the terrorist Houthi militia, today, Tuesday, on a residential complex and populated neighborhoods in the center of the besieged city of Taiz, southwest of Yemen, in a criminal escalation that targeted civilians.

The official Yemeni News Agency reported that a Katyusha rocket fired by the militias from their positions in Jabal al-Wash, north of the governorate, landed in the populated Sinah area.

According to a medical source, the bombing resulted in the death of a girl and the wounding of 8 others with varying injuries, including children and women, some of whom were in critical condition, in addition to two houses being completely damaged.

In another crime, the Houthi militia targeted an ambulance with a mortar shell while it was trying to help the girl Taiba Abdel Raqeeb (18 years old), who was injured by militia bullets in the Sabr Al Shaqab area, which led to the death of her and the ambulance driver, the injury of the accompanying doctor, and the destruction of the ambulance.

The bombing comes under a complete siege imposed by the Houthis on the city of Taiz for about a month, following their control of the surrounding areas and main roads, which led to the almost cessation of food, fuel and medicine supplies.

Human Rights Watch called on the Houthis to lift the siege on the city immediately, calling on the parties to give priority to the entry of supplies, in response to the United Nations’ report that humanitarian organizations in Taiz distributed the last available food parcels last week.

The United Nations said that water supplies have decreased by 50%, while hospitals are running out of medicine, oxygen and fuel. The World Food Program had warned that stocks of wheat and flour would run out within a few weeks, and aid would be cut off for hundreds of thousands of people.

The blockade was accompanied by an increase in the prices of basic materials by between 40 and 50% or more, and the prices of gasoline and water doubled.
