Fuel prices rose in Morocco at the beginning of this October, when an increase of 80 cents per liter of gasoline and 39 cents per liter of gasoline was approved.
According to inspections recorded at Casablanca stations, the price of a liter of gasoline jumped from its previous levels between 15.30 and 15.33 dirhams ($1.58), to settle between 16.10 and 16.13 dirhams ($1.66) per liter, while a liter of gasoline reached about 15.58 to 15.59 dirhams ($1.61), after it had fluctuated between 15.19. And 15.20 dirhams ($1.57).
These prices remain subject to slight increases and differences depending on the distribution networks and station locations across the various regions of Morocco, according to the Moroccan “Le360” website.
This jump continues a convergent upward curve that began since mid-July. Gasoline then recorded an initial increase of 69 centimes per liter, followed by an increase of a full dirham at the beginning of August, then another increase of 65 centimeters in mid-August, followed by 6 centimes at the beginning of September, and 34 centimes on September 16th. With the increase scheduled for Wednesday night, the total cumulative increase in gasoline amounts to about 3.54 dirhams per liter.
Gasoline prices witnessed an increase of 39 centimes in mid-July, then a full dirham at the beginning of August, before recording a decline of about 30 centimeters in the middle of the same month, then rising again by 27 centimes on September 16, bringing the cumulative result of gasoline increases to approximately 1.75 dirhams per liter.
