A research achievement for the Arab American University.. A study for the Faculty of Medicine in a prestigious international journal

Ramallah - Ofoq News - The Arab American University achieved a new research achievement by accepting a scientific study entitled “Teaching Research in Undergraduate Medical Education in Palestine: A Systematic Review” for publication in the international journal BMC Medical Education, specialized in medical education, which has an impact factor of 4.2, and is classified within the first quarter (Q1) of scientific journals in its specialty.

The study was led by Professor Dr. Malek Zabin, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the Arab American University, as the principal researcher, within a research team that included Dr. Saja Amer, Research and Teaching Assistant at the University’s Faculty of Medicine, along with researchers from other universities and academic institutions.

Acceptance of the study for publication in a specialized international journal with an advanced scientific classification confirms the importance of scientific research in developing medical education, and the necessity of strengthening research cooperation between Palestinian universities, in a way that supports the quality of academic programs and consolidates the culture of scientific research among medical students.

The study addressed the reality of teaching scientific research to undergraduate medical students in Palestine, through a systematic review of scientific literature, which contributes to evaluating existing educational practices, identifying challenges and gaps, and exploring opportunities for developing scientific research education and enhancing the capabilities of medical students and emerging researchers in Palestine.

This achievement reflects the efforts of Professor Dr. Malek Zabin in leading research and academic initiatives that combine scientific expertise and institutional work. It also highlights the contribution of Arab American University’s academic and research cadres in producing scientific knowledge and participating in research published in international journals.

The College of Medicine at the Arab American University continues to work to enhance scientific research and evidence-based medical education, and to expand academic and research partnerships locally and internationally, which contributes to raising the level of medical education and serving the Palestinian health sector.
