An Israeli official source told Ofoq News Network on Wednesday that Saudi Arabia refused to allow Israeli planes to transport the stranded passengers who were on board Flydubai flight FZ1073. An Israeli official had previously told Ofek News that Israel is considering the possibility of sending a plane - whether military or civilian - to Saudi Arabia to return the passengers who landed there after changing the flight path, which was originally headed to Tel Aviv.
Saudi Arabia does not have diplomatic relations with Israel, and Israeli airlines and flights heading to Israel were prohibited from even entering Saudi airspace until 2022. The leading Saudi airport operator, Cluster2, had previously announced a coordination procedure to arrange an alternative aircraft following the accident that occurred on Wednesday morning.
