Sheffield - Ofoq News - Professor Mohsen Abu Ramadan, Director of the Dr. Center, conducted... Haider Abdel Shafi for Culture and Development, a series of cultural and national meetings in the British cities of Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham and Liverpool, with the participation of activists and solidarity activists who believe in the justice of the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people to freedom and independence.
These meetings came at the invitation of three parties and institutions supporting the Palestinian cause, including the Sheffield-Palestine Association for Cultural Exchange, with the aim of strengthening solidarity with the Palestinian people and highlighting their suffering as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
During the meetings, Abu Ramadan discussed the catastrophic humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, in light of the continued aggression and siege, the occupation of large areas of the Strip, and the reduction of humanitarian aid, at a time when about a million citizens are still living in worn-out tents for the third year in a row, amid extremely harsh living conditions and an acute shortage of the basic necessities of life.
Researcher Abu Ramadan stressed that what the Palestinian people are exposed to in Gaza and the West Bank represents a targeting of the land, the human being, and the Palestinian national existence, and an attempt to liquidate legitimate national rights, stressing the need to intensify international movements and use diplomatic, legal, and legal tools to pressure the occupation to stop its aggression and violations.
Participants in the meetings called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and take urgent action to confront plans for forced displacement and ethnic cleansing, and to ensure the flow of humanitarian aid to
Gaza Strip without restrictions, and the protection of Palestinian civilians.
They also stressed the importance of strengthening coordination and networking between Palestinian and British charities and institutions, and unifying efforts to support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and alleviate their human suffering, in addition to continuing popular, cultural and human rights movements to keep the Palestinian issue present in British and international public opinion.
