The late artist Shadia returned to the spotlight again after a rare television interview between her and media personality Najwa Ibrahim went viral, in an exceptional appearance that brought to mind the features of the character of the “Pearl of Egyptian Cinema,” away from the cameras and lights. The clip sparked widespread interaction and nostalgia among her fans on social media, about 9 years after her passing.

Shadia's Facebook page published the interview taken from the program "Nights of the Moon", which Ibrahim presented during the 1970s and was filmed in Greece. The dialogue revealed rare human and personal aspects of the late artist’s life, including a wish that had accompanied her since childhood but was not fulfilled.

During the meeting, Shadia spoke frankly about her great love for children, stressing that motherhood was one of her most prominent dreams since childhood, and that she imagined herself as the mother of a large family.

Recalling her childhood memories, she said: “I always said that when I grow up and get married, I will have a dozen children,” referring to her desire to have 12 children, a dream that has remained with her for many years.

She also confirmed that her relationship with the children was special, noting that she felt remarkably close to her. She said that the children she met for the first time would quickly calm down in her arms, even if they had been crying before.

Despite her strong attachment to the idea of motherhood, she explained that this wish did not come true, considering that the matter was related to “the share,” in a speech that carried a lot of honesty and a human dimension.

During the interview, Shadia touched on the personalities who had a great influence on her professional and humanitarian formation, stressing that the late director Fateen Abdel Wahab taught her to love work and be loyal to it.

She also praised the atmosphere he created on filming sites, saying that he always succeeded in spreading the spirit of love and understanding among the members of the work team, which was reflected in her artistic experience with him.

She also spoke about the late journalist, writer, Mustafa Amin, stressing that he contributed greatly to shaping her vision of life, and said: “Mustafa Amin taught me all of life, both good and bad.”

She added that she learned patience and adherence to work deadlines from director Helmy Rafla, values that accompanied her throughout her artistic career.

Among the most interesting moments of the meeting was Najwa Ibrahim’s question to Shadia about what she learned from her ex-husband, the late artist Salah Zulfikar.

But the artist preferred not to elaborate on the answer, and simply said: “I can’t tell you more than that, sorry,” ending the conversation at that point, without providing additional details about that stage of her life.

While this brief response aroused the curiosity of a number of followers, especially since the relationship and marriage of the two stars is one of the important milestones in their artistic and personal history.

In addition, Shadia revealed another side of her personality, which is her aversion to moments of farewell and separation.

She explained that she avoided going to airports to bid farewell to those close to her, and she did not like anyone to accompany her to bid her farewell when travelling, because these situations aroused feelings of sadness and pessimism in her.

On the other hand, she confirmed that she was keen to receive her loved ones upon their return, a reflection of her emotional nature and sensitivity towards scenes of separation.

In conjunction with the circulation of the rare recording, many followers praised the republication of the dialogue, expressing their longing for Shadia’s voice and her artistic and humanitarian presence, which is still present in Arab memory.

On the other hand, some observers criticized a number of questions that were asked to her during the meeting, especially those related to childlessness, marriage, and personal relationships, considering that it dealt with very private aspects and perhaps carried a degree of sensitivity for the late artist.
