After the Fly Dubai Incident.. Netanyahu Orders Comprehensive Security Check for Foreign Flights and Lapid Attacks the Investigation: 'Just a Show'

Tel Aviv - Afaq News - Following the incident involving the Fly Dubai aircraft, which experienced an attempted hijacking, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered a comprehensive review of all aspects of flight security and foreign airlines heading to Israel, and appointed an official to review protection mechanisms and inspect flight crews.

Netanyahu's decision comes amid increasing questions about how to handle data regarding foreign flight crews, after reports confirmed that information about the Fly Dubai flight crew had reached Israel before takeoff, while the authorities responsible for examining and evaluating this data remain a subject of debate within Israel.

In contrast, Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid intensified his attack on Netanyahu's handling of the incident, stating that the investigation announced by the Prime Minister regarding the failures of the aircraft incident is, in his words, a 'sham investigation,' considering that the series of failures preceding the incident could have led to a major disaster.

Lapid had previously confirmed that the aircraft incident was not raised with him, even in a similar manner, during the security briefing he received from Netanyahu before the incident, rejecting any connection between Netanyahu's prior warnings of potential attacks ahead of the elections and the Fly Dubai incident.

Recent developments reveal an escalation of political and security debate in Israel regarding the issue of foreign flight security, especially after initial investigations showed gaps and questions regarding who is responsible for vetting the backgrounds of foreign flight crew members before their arrival in Israel.

The investigations into the "Fly Dubai" incident are still ongoing, and the circumstances of the accident or the motives behind the attempt to take control of the aircraft have not yet been definitively resolved.
