This decision came after Judge Yitzhak Amit indicated to Abu Shehadeh that there was a sufficient majority to disqualify him, and suggested that he withdraw from the race.
On Thursday, the Israeli Supreme Court suggested to the head of the National Democratic Rally, Sami Abu Shehadeh, to withdraw his candidacy to run in the elections, or be disqualified.
On September 23, the Election Commission approved the cancellation of lists and candidates, with the final decision resting with the Supreme Court.
