On Saturday, the Iranian Tasnim Agency quoted an informed source as saying that Iran has not presented any new proposals regarding reopening the Strait of Hormuz to the United States. The source said: “Iran does not accept any equation linking the Strait of Hormuz and lifting the blockade. Rather, Iran circumvents the blockade through its own methods, and will eventually break it completely.”
He added: "As Iranian officials have explicitly announced, Iran's decisive and definitive position is represented by the seven conditions that were officially communicated through the mediators, and any other media speculation or fantasies in this regard are worthless." This comes at a time when the United States is rushing to transfer some of its diplomats and their family members from their positions in the Middle East, in light of the increasing risks of a regional escalation, according to what multiple sources familiar with this matter revealed to Ofoq News Network.
These departures have been described as a “frustrating and chaotic repetition of previous events”; Many of the departed had only recently returned to their work sites, having previously received orders to leave during the height of tensions related to Iran. An unclassified memorandum, dated October 23 and addressed to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, indicates that US intelligence has concluded that “Iran has significantly intensified its efforts to target American personnel,” and that these plans “have reached advanced stages, both in the Middle East and in other countries.”
