An Israeli attempt to change the name of Salah al-Din Street in Jerusalem (video)

Jerusalem - Ofoq News - Yesterday, extremist settler Eliyahu Lipman, candidate for the Noam Party in the Knesset elections, accompanied by Knesset member Avi Maoz and about 20 of his supporters, placed posters bearing the name “War Heroes Street” on the sign of Salah al-Din Street in the occupied city of Jerusalem, in an attempt to change the name of the street.

This step coincided with the 839th anniversary of the recapture of the city of Jerusalem by Commander Saladin al-Ayyubi, in a move aimed at changing the name of the street that bears the name of the historical leader.

In the same context, Knesset member Avi Maoz sent a request to the mayor of the occupation municipality in Jerusalem, Moshe Leon, requesting that a proposal to change the street name be presented to the municipality’s naming committee.

It is noteworthy that Eliyahu Lipman is the father of Eliyakim Lipman, who was killed during the events of October 7, 2023 near the Gaza Strip.
