Tel Aviv - Ofaq News - Israeli reports revealed behind-the-scenes communications between the Likud party, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, and the head of "Blue and White," Benny Gantz, in an attempt to explore the possibility of a political alliance ahead of the Israeli elections.
According to a report published by the "Srugim" website, citing the "Kan" channel, three sources spoke about an offer made by Likud to Gantz to appoint him as a minister in the current government immediately, in order to demonstrate the seriousness of efforts to build what the report described as a "national unity government."
The report stated that during the communications, the possibility of granting Gantz the security portfolio was also raised, but Gantz rejected the offers that were conveyed to him, according to the same source.
In contrast, Likud denied that Gantz had received an official offer to be appointed or included in the government, stating in response to the report: "Benny Gantz did not receive an offer."
