- Fox News reported on Monday that former White House press secretary Caroline Levitt will join its team as a live contributor starting next month, just weeks after leaving her position to spend more time with her family. A statement from Fox News mentioned that Levitt "will provide political analysis and commentary" across the network's various platforms beginning November 1.
Levitt also stated in the network's announcement: "I will bring the same energy and candor that characterized my previous tenure to millions of viewers across Fox's multiple platforms." An informed source told Afaq News that Levitt, who hails from Atkinson, New Hampshire, has returned to reside in the state with her husband and two young children; a move also noted by Fox News in its statement.
The source added that the network has agreed to set up a studio inside her home. It is worth mentioning that Levitt previously lived with her family at the Vice President's residence in Washington during her time as press secretary.
Trump announced on August 12 that Levitt was leaving the White House, and a replacement has not yet been announced. The last press briefing was on September 3, led by Vice President JD Vance.
It is noteworthy that when Levitt was on maternity leave earlier this year, Vance and other officials in the administration took turns conducting the press briefings. Trump told reporters at the White House on Thursday: "We have a lot of people wanting to take that job."
I would like to say that many of them are here," pointing with his hand to Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy. When asked who he was looking for, Trump jokingly said, "Maybe someone like Peter."
Levitt mentioned that she left her position as a press secretary to dedicate more time to her two young children, which she said was difficult to achieve while holding a high-level position in the White House. However, she remains within the president's inner circle, working with the political action committee (Super PAC) known as "MAGA Inc." that supports Trump.
Levitt recently spoke at the Republican Party's midterm election conference in Dallas, and she also contributed to hosting the launch event for the website "America.gov" - which relies on artificial intelligence technologies - in Washington, D.C. last week. In recent weeks, Levitt has appeared on the television program and podcast of Fox News host Sean Hannity.
It is worth noting that another former White House press secretary during Trump's presidency, Kayleigh McEnany, joined Fox News after her tenure as a press secretary during Trump's first term.
