Egypt expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack that targeted King Fahd Airport in Dammam in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which resulted in two deaths of civilians and a number of injuries, warning of the threat to the stability of the region through irresponsible practices.
Egypt confirmed in an official statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday that the attack is a continuation of the violation of the rules of international law and the targeting of air traffic, facilities, and civilian persons indiscriminately and irresponsibly.
Cairo also stressed its categorical rejection of these practices that “would fuel the crisis, increase tension, and destabilize the region,” while Egypt renewed its full solidarity and standing by the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its leadership in defending its lands and citizens, considering the Kingdom’s security an integral part of Arab and Egyptian national security.
This came hours after Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received, on Wednesday, a written message to King Salman bin Abdulaziz from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi via Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Ati in Riyadh.
The Saudi Crown Prince and the Egyptian Foreign Minister discussed bilateral relations and opportunities to enhance them, in addition to discussing regional developments and coordinating efforts regarding them.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi had also confirmed earlier Wednesday that the Egyptian military effort is limited to defending the lands of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its borders, stressing that this effort does not in any way include launching any attack on Yemen.
During the Egypt Forum 2026 session, Sisi explained that Arab national security is indivisible, and that the stability of the brothers in the Gulf is linked to Egyptian national security, stressing that Egypt will defend the lands of any other Arab country if asked to do so.
The Egyptian President pointed out that Egypt's standing alongside the Gulf states comes as a natural extension of the concept of joint Arab national security, stressing that the Egyptian military move does not extend beyond the borders of Egypt or the borders of the sister countries whose security and stability Cairo is keen on.
