Endowments: The colonists’ storming of the Ibrahimi Mosque is a violation of its sanctity and an attempt to impose a new reality

Hebron - Ofoq News - The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs condemned the storming of groups of colonialists into the Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of Hebron, and performing provocative parties, dances and rituals inside its courtyards, in a flagrant violation of the feelings of Muslims and a blatant violation of the sanctity of mosques and Islamic sanctities.

The Ministry confirmed in a statement today, Thursday, that these provocative practices and actions come within the framework of ongoing plans to impose demographic and spatial change in the Ibrahimi Mosque, and attempts to Judaize it, restrict Muslim worshipers, and attack their original religious and historical rights.

She stressed that the Ibrahimi Mosque is a pure Islamic endowment in all its parts and courtyards, and that no other party has the right or sovereignty over it, warning of the danger of these attacks being repeated and escalating under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, which is pushing the region towards more tension and temporal and spatial division.

She called on the international community and international human rights institutions concerned with heritage and culture, most notably UNESCO, to fulfill their urgent responsibilities to put pressure on the occupation authorities to stop these daily violations and provide the necessary protection for Islamic and Christian sanctities.

The Ministry of Endowments also urged citizens to activate the Rabat and travel to the Ibrahimi Mosque to protect it and preserve its Islamic identity.
