Flydubai simulated a plane falling 17,000 feet in less than two minutes

Commercial airline pilot Aaron Murphy and colleague Angelo Peterson demonstrated what it's like to plunge 20,000 feet in less than 35 seconds using a flight simulator. During this landing process, the simulator issued a continuous sound warning of exceeding the permissible speed, in what the pilot described as what happened similar to a “diving” operation.

“When I saw the pictures of the plane on the ground with the rudder removed, I had an immediate feeling of terror and chills,” Murphy told Ofoq News colleague Erin Burnett. He added: "The vertical fin was a lifeline, as it gave the plane stability on its course."

Flight tracking data shows that the accident involving the Flydubai plane - during its flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv - caused it to suddenly land at a distance of 17,400 feet in less than two minutes, before it was diverted to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Passenger Adam Polo - who was on board the Flydubai plane with his wife and two young children - recalled the moments of terror he experienced during the sudden landing of the plane following the attack that occurred in the cockpit.

Polo told Ufoq News that at first glance, the initial turbulence appeared to be “just a normal turbulence,” adding, “But after one second, I felt that the pace and acceleration of the descent was not normal.” He continued, saying: “The electricity, entertainment system and air conditioning system on the plane stopped working.

Passengers who were standing in the aisle or heading to the bathrooms fell; Everyone who was not sitting in their seat fell to the ground. “It was like the craziest rollercoaster, but a thousand times more intense.”
