As the Lebanese authorities continue their efforts to control security in all regions, the Internal Security Forces stopped a Dodge Caravan four-wheel drive vehicle at the Dahr al-Baidar checkpoint in the Bekaa, east of the country.
A Lebanese security source revealed on Friday that 500 kilograms of highly explosive materials were seized inside the car
The source also added that among the seized items were 250 kg of TNT, and 250 kg of C4-4, which is usually used in bombing and booby-trapping operations.
He also indicated that security also arrested two people belonging to Hezbollah, according to what Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath correspondent reported.
He explained that the security forces handed over the seized items and detainees to the military police in the Lebanese army to expand the investigation.
The Dahr al-Baydar Road is considered an international road linking Beirut and the Syrian territories, passing through the Bekaa and the Masnaa border crossing. The movement of trucks and public cars as well as civilian cars is active there.
