The Cairo International Film Festival revealed the official poster for the 47th session, which is scheduled to be held from November 11 to 20, 2026, in an session that carries a special significance with the 50th anniversary of the founding of the festival in 1976.
The poster reflects a vision that combines memory and renewal, by drawing inspiration from the history of cinema and celebrating its heritage, while emphasizing the importance of preserving and restoring old films, as they are an integral part of cultural and artistic memory, and a bridge linking generations of film makers.
Artist Hussein Fahmy, head of the festival, stressed the importance of restoring films and preserving cinematic heritage, pointing out that these efforts contribute to re-presenting classic works to new generations, and open horizons for creativity and benefiting from previous cinematic experiences.
The Cairo International Film Festival, accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations, continues its role in supporting cinema and presenting various experiences from different parts of the world, in addition to celebrating the history of Egyptian cinema and highlighting its artistic and cultural status.
The 47th session is of special importance because it coincides with the passage of half a century since the launch of the festival in 1976, as this represents an extension of a cinematic and cultural history that contributed to consolidating Cairo’s position on the map of international film festivals.
