The Secretary-General of the Kuwaiti Council of Ministers, Saleh Suleiman Al-Mulla, affirmed the full commitment of the State of Kuwait to continue working to complete the implementation of all decisions issued by the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, based on Kuwait’s belief in the importance of comprehensive and integrated implementation of those decisions, in order to achieve the desired goals.
This came in a speech delivered by Al-Mulla during the 27th meeting of the Ministerial Committee charged with following up on the implementation of decisions related to joint work in the Gulf Cooperation Council, which was held today, Sunday, via video communication technology, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Al-Budaiwi.
Al-Mulla said that the challenges and rapid changes taking place in the region and the world require the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to strengthen their unity and integration, and redouble efforts to accelerate the pace of joint Gulf action.
He added, "The full implementation of joint Gulf decisions is no longer just a procedural or organizational issue, but rather has become a strategic necessity to enhance the ability of the Gulf Cooperation Council to respond to challenges, consolidate its security and stability, achieve sustainable development, and enhance its regional and international standing."
He stressed that the regularity of this committee’s meetings, and the constructive discussions and careful follow-up it witnesses, reflect the common interest in implementing the decisions of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, and not just approving them, in a way that ensures their tangible reflection on the reality of joint Gulf action and the interests of the citizens of the Council countries.
He stated that the success of the Cooperation Council in performing its duties is measured by the extent of its ability to transform the directives and decisions of the leaders of the Council countries into practical results that the Gulf citizen feels in his daily life, whether by facilitating his movement, residence, and work, or enhancing his benefit from economic, educational, health, and social opportunities, or providing a more integrated, secure, and prosperous Gulf environment.
Al-Mulla explained that thanks to the wise visions of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, the Council was able to consolidate its position as a successful regional system, and achieve many achievements and gains in various fields of joint action, at the political, economic, security, social, developmental and humanitarian levels.
He stated that everyone has a duty to preserve these gains and work to develop and highlight them in a way that keeps pace with the aspirations of the Gulf citizen, enhances his sense of Gulf citizenship, and enables him to fully benefit from the decisions, systems and programs approved by the Council countries.
According to Al-Qabas newspaper, Al-Mulla reiterated that the State of Kuwait, based on its firm approach and firm belief in the importance of the Cooperation Council as the unifying Gulf home, will continue to support everything that would strengthen its path and consolidate its unity and integration. It will also continue to work and coordinate with member states and the General Secretariat to complete the implementation of joint decisions and overcome any challenges that may arise, in a way that embodies the directives of the leaders of the GCC states and fulfills the hopes and aspirations of its people.
