Startups in the Middle East and North Africa region raised about $3 billion during the first nine months of 2026, a 7% decrease year-on-year, according to a MAGNiTT report.
A growing gap appears between major companies and emerging companies, as the number of deals decreased by 33% to 351 deals, while financing rounds exceeding $100 million accounted for $1.5 billion, i.e. more than half of the total financing.
Excluding these huge rounds, the value of financing decreases by 32%, while the number of early-stage company deals decreases by 45%, which raises concerns about a decline in the number of companies able to reach advanced financing rounds during the years 2027 and 2028.
