Russian President Vladimir Putin announced today, Friday, during a visit to the Joint Forces Group's Auxiliary Command Center, the liberation of about 310 towns and an area of approximately 6.5 thousand square kilometers of land since the beginning of the year.
Putin, in his capacity as Supreme Commander of the Russian Armed Forces, pointed to the positive dynamic of the advance of Russian forces along the combat line of contact.
He explained that Russian forces have liberated 6.5 thousand square kilometers of land and 310 towns since the beginning of the year, stressing that the goal of the armed forces is to ensure complete security of the Russian border areas.
Putin said: “I would like to recall that after the incursion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces into the Kursk Oblast, the Russian Armed Forces were entrusted with a mission that is not limited to expelling the enemy from our territory, but also includes establishing a security zone in the neighboring territories. This mission is being implemented successfully,” and added: “Our goal is to ensure absolute security of the Russian border regions.”
He also pointed out that the Lugansk People's Republic is completely under the control of the Russian Armed Forces.
