A high-ranking Iranian security official said on Tuesday that the American response to Iran’s demands “was not satisfactory.” The Secretary-General of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaei, previously wrote in a blog post on his account on the “X” platform, Twitter: “America’s response to Iran’s rights and demands was not satisfactory, as it must fully and frankly address the seven conditions set by Iran, and act in accordance with them.”
It was not clear which response Rezaei intended; A diplomat familiar with the talks told Ofoq News Network, earlier on Tuesday, that both Washington and Tehran were considering responding to a new proposal presented by Qatari mediators, and would submit their responses within two days. Rezaei added: "We have repeatedly emphasized the necessity of meeting the seven conditions announced by Iran. If these conditions are met, the path of diplomacy will become open."
The Iranian official warned that any move against his country would be met with a military response, saying: “If any action is taken against the country, we - and in accordance with the directives of today’s Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces - will deliver crushing blows to the aggressor using new weapons.” Iran had demanded that Washington meet seven conditions before Tehran reopened the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Iranian officials and media, these demands include, among other things, the United States lifting the naval blockade on Iranian ports, releasing frozen Iranian assets, and ending the war “on all fronts.”
