Today, Saturday, the Russian Foreign Ministry renewed its warning to foreign citizens, including employees of diplomatic missions, against staying in or traveling to Ukraine, and called on those in Kiev to leave the city.

The ministry said, in a statement, that it "again warns foreign citizens, including employees of diplomatic missions, against remaining in Ukraine and traveling to its territory," also warning against being in Kiev or near military installations.

She added that Russian forces would continue to launch "large-scale retaliatory strikes" on military targets in Kiev and other Ukrainian cities, in response to what she described as "terrorist acts" carried out by Ukrainian forces against the population and civilian infrastructure in Russia.

The Russian Foreign Ministry held those who ignore the warning responsible for what may result, saying, “Full responsibility for any potential negative consequences lies with those who ignore this warning.”

The Ministry indicated that it had previously called on foreigners and diplomats to leave Kiev and refrain from traveling to Ukraine, and also called on those in the country to stay away from military and administrative facilities.

According to the statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry had issued a similar warning on May 25, 2026, and had also sent memorandums to foreign partners, before Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin renewed the warning during a briefing to the diplomatic corps on May 27.

The ministry indicated that a number of countries, including the United States, Britain, countries in the European Union, Norway, and Switzerland, had previously warned their citizens against traveling to Ukraine, pointing out the continued work of a number of embassies in Kiev and visits of foreign officials to the country.
