The Lebanese artist Nancy Ajram appeared with a look that combined femininity and boldness in her latest photographic work entitled “It Provokes You”, through striking aesthetic choices in terms of fashion, makeup and hairstyle, which reflected a different trend in her image in the clip directed by the Lebanese Joe Bouaid. Ajram, who played the role of a sweets seller, chose a short black dress with a shape-defining cut, with red lace details at the chest, in a way that contradicts the apparent underwear trend, which is based on highlighting parts of the bra within the look.
She coordinated the dress with prominent gold jewelry, which included large circular earrings, chains, and bracelets, along with high-heeled black summer sandals, while she wore a straight and curly hairstyle, with a colorful scarf that added a feminine dimension to the bold “look.” Different techniques and unusual colors The change was not limited to fashion, but also extended to makeup, which reflected different techniques from those that Ajram used to choose in her previous looks.
Speaking to the Arabic website Ofoq News, Lebanese makeup expert Fadi Qataya explained that red lipstick, despite its frequent presence in Ajram’s looks, was applied this time in a different way, by outlining the circumference of the mouth with a dark color, with the strong red color concentrated in the middle of the lips, to highlight the contrast between the two colors. At the level of the eyes, Kataya moved away from the gray and black smoky colors that he had previously adopted in strong looks for Ajram, including the makeup of the “Don’t Come Here” clip, and instead turned to earthy tones, which the Lebanese artist is known to prefer.
He explained that the shine on the eyelids formed part of this trend, in addition to extending the eyes outward more clearly than usual, and defining the eyes in black, in a move that he noted had not been present in her makeup for some time. Kataya pointed out that these choices made the makeup clearer and sharper, in line with Bouaid’s vision for the clip, in which he wanted Ajram to appear in a way closer to the popular character, instead of being satisfied with a modern and soft appearance.
As for the complexion, Kataya chose shades close to nude with a slight golden touch, and chose a soft matte effect away from the strong shine. Use highlighter with light touches on different areas of the face, especially the cheeks, to give a limited radiance to the skin.
On the other hand, the eyelashes appeared longer and thicker compared to what Ajram used to wear, in harmony with the clear definition of the eyes and the rest of the makeup elements.
