In response to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s request to grant the necessary authorization, the Egyptian Parliament decided to hold an emergency plenary session tomorrow, Sunday, to discuss developments in the regional situation and Egypt’s position towards protecting the security and stability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The session comes within the framework of affirming Egyptian support for the Kingdom, and Cairo’s readiness to take the measures requested by Riyadh, in accordance with the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Today, Saturday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi called on the House of Representatives to hold an emergency session to authorize him to carry out any intervention requested by Saudi Arabia.

Al-Sisi said, during his speech at the graduation ceremony of military college students, that Egypt will implement any measure to protect and defend Saudi Arabia, in accordance with the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The Egyptian President expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the brothers in the Gulf, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for their support of Egypt following the events of 2013, stressing that their support and the bridges of gas and oil ships came without account, and that Egypt would have embarked on an unknown path had it not been for their position.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi previously affirmed that Egypt and Saudi Arabia represent the heart of the Arab and Islamic nations, and that Egypt does not accept compromising the Kingdom’s security or borders.

He stressed that targeting the Kingdom affects Arab and Egyptian national security, stressing the refusal to compromise the security of the Red Sea and international sea lanes, and that what matters to Egypt is maintaining the Kingdom’s security and stability and reducing escalation.
