The Al-Waziyah district holds geographical and strategic importance due to its commanding position over coastal routes and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
The movement of government forces comes just one day after their control, through the Giants and National Shield Forces, over Dhobab overlooking Bab al-Mandab.
Military and political developments in Yemen continue on Tuesday, as the war in Yemen takes a more decisive turn, with the expansion of military operations and the shift of the battle from containing the capabilities of the Houthis to targeting the core of their strength and their deployment sites.

On the ground, in the field developments, the media center for the Taiz axis reported that about 100 members of the Houthi militia were killed and 150 others were injured during offensive operations carried out by the armed forces in the Taiz axis, supported by popular resistance, in several combat fronts as part of the "Fajr Yemen" operation.
The Chief of Staff of the Yemeni Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Sager bin Aziz, confirmed the continuation of the military operation until every inch of Yemen is liberated.
The spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces, Majid Al-Nazili, clarified that the Yemeni army has begun to implement the "Fajr Yemen" operation on a large scale to target Houthi capabilities and elements.

The government forces also besieged elements of the Houthi militias in the Bab al-Mandab sector and on the island of Meyun.
He pointed out that the government forces have succeeded in taking control of the Dhubab Airport, which is now fully under government control. They are moving to completely cut off the supply line of the Houthi group to the Dhubab area.
For his part, the commander of the National Shield Forces, Major General Abdul Rahman Al-Lahji, indicated that the goal of the battle is to restore the state, protect Yemenis, and end the aggression against their lives by the Houthi militias.
He confirmed that he has instructed all fighters to treat Houthi prisoners kindly, stating that anyone who lays down their arms becomes under the protection of the Yemeni forces, and their protection is a religious and moral duty.
