The Sheikh welcomes the Red Cross's call to provide urgent protection to the Palestinians

Ramallah - Ofoq News - Vice President Hussein Al-Sheikh welcomed the call of the International Committee of the Red Cross to provide urgent protection to the Palestinian people, in light of the procedures and policies of ethnic cleansing and repeated acts of terrorism to which they are exposed.

In press statements today, Thursday, the Sheikh called on the international community to work hard to provide international protection for the Palestinian people in the Palestinian territories.

The International Committee of the Red Cross has warned of the repercussions of the escalation of violence, restrictions on movement, and settlement expansion in the West Bank, stressing that these practices have caused serious harm to civilians, impeded the access of patients to health care services and students to their schools, and isolated residents from their homes and sources of livelihood.

The committee called for the protection of civilians, respect for the provisions of international humanitarian law, and an end to acts of violence and the expansion of settlement construction.
